2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Oil Filter in Lynnfield, MA

Replacing both together gives fresh oil a clean filter for capturing debris. The exact timing for service should follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule and the vehicle's service history. A filter that loads can open its bypass valve, allowing oil to circulate without filtration.

• Fresh oil and a replacement filter are handled together.
• The filter holds debris carried by engine oil.
• The service includes a post-service leak check.

The filter is selected for the engine actually fitted in the Sprinter. The sealing component is renewed where that engine uses one, and the filter seal is checked after operation. The filter is replaced alongside the oil so the new oil circulates through a clean filtering element.

• Filter matched to the engine's specification.
• New drain plug gasket or washer where applicable.
• Inspection for leaks at the filter seal.

The engine can still receive oil, but that oil may no longer pass through the filter media. Debris carried by the oil then continues through the lubrication system rather than being held by the filter. The vehicle's maintenance schedule and service history help determine when replacement is due.

• The filter gradually holds the debris removed from the oil.
• A loaded filter can activate the bypass valve.
• Unfiltered oil can circulate through the engine.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is offered across configurations with engines ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 liters and from four to six cylinders. The correct filter depends on the engine actually fitted, not simply the vehicle name. Mercedes-Benz of Lynnfield can match the filter during the oil service without relying on a one-size-fits-all component.

• Engine displacement ranges from 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
• Engine configurations range from four to six cylinders.
• The filter is selected for the fitted engine.

Pairing the two services prevents fresh oil from immediately working with a filter that has already collected debris. Once a filter loads, its bypass valve opens and unfiltered oil circulates. The manufacturer's maintenance schedule, inspection findings, and service history determine the appropriate maintenance plan for the vehicle.

• Filter replacement gives fresh oil a clean filtering element.
• A loaded filter may allow unfiltered oil to circulate.
• Service history helps guide maintenance decisions.

The service team can match the filter to your 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter's engine and replace it alongside the oil. The visit includes the applicable drain plug gasket or washer and a check for leaks at the filter seal after the engine runs. You can also review service specials before booking.
